We have powered mobility scooters (with a capacity of up to 22 stone), as well as assisted wheelchairs and manual wheelchairs, all available for hire.

How long can I hire the equipment for?
Scooters can be hired at the earliest time of 9.30 am and will need to be returned no later than 4.30 pm on the same day. They can not be hired for more than one day.
Wheelchairs can also be hired out for a half day or full day, however you can also rent for longer periods. Up to three weeks. (subject to availability and a refundable £50 deposit) for holidays, convalescence etc.
Who is the service for?
This service is for anyone – whether your disability is temporary or permanent. You don’t need to be registered as disabled or have a disabled badge.
What if I live outside of the area?
You are welcome to hire our equipment if you are a visitor or live outside the local area, however they are not to be taken away from the town centre area. Membership is free. Please bring a form of identification with your name and address on your first visit.
What are the charges for hiring the equipment?
Scooters can be hired for £5 (between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm). They cannot be taken overnight.
Wheelchairs can be hired for different time periods, please see below for more details:
Half-day rate: £5.00
Full-day rate: £10.00
Week: £30 (reduced to £20 each week from your second week onwards for longer-term hire) Subject to a refundable £50 deposit.
