About OCA Social Connection Service
Our social connection service is designed to bring people together, reduce loneliness, and create a sense of community, offering companionship and friendship in a safe, welcoming environment.
Feeling connected is essential for wellbeing, but sometimes life can make it hard to meet new people or maintain regular contact with others. That’s where our befriending services come in.
At Oswestry Community Action, we offer two welcoming ways to help people connect and feel supported: in-person companionship groups and a telephone befriending service.
Our small in-person groups, usually 4–6 people, meet across the Oswestry area, creating a friendly, intimate environment where new friendships can blossom. For those who find it harder to get out and about, our telephone befriending service brings companionship straight to your home with regular calls from a trusted volunteer. Both options provide a chance to meet, chat, and build meaningful connections in a way that suits you.
